PO says it will vote against the PiS government
The Civic Platform (PO) will not to support the cabinet of Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz (PiS) in the November 10 confidence vote, the party's National Caucus announced.
It appeared to be a statement of unity within the party, as only 4 out of 145 National Council members voted against the motion.
Before the September Parliamentary elections, PO and PiS claimed they would rule in a strong coalition. Talks broke down after a bitter presidential campaign. Coalition talks have fallen apart over a number of issues, but it seems the main one is the PO's fear of being a "junior" coalition partner in every sense of the word.
PiS voted against PO members taking major positions in the Parliament and government, which further angered the PO.
The fact of the matter is this: the voters have spoken and the PO did not win the elections. Hence, party leaders should accept this and join the government in an attempt improve how this country functions instead of worrying about their bruised egos. Having the PO as an "opposition" party will achieve absolutely nothing.
