Top officials from the continent's football governing body UEFA and its 53 national associations assembled at Warsaw's Palace of Culture and Science for the Euro 2012 qualifying draw yesterday at noon.

The fate of Europe’s teams were in the hands of four great Polish and Ukrainian footballers who drew the lots: Zbigniew Boniek, Andrzej Szarmach, Andriy Shevchenko and Oleg Blokhin.

Ukraine and Poland have already qualified as co-hosts.
