Poland will have to subsidize the social insurance fund (FUS) responsible for the payment of pensions and disability benefits with 350 billion zlotys within five years, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily writes citing the calculations of the social security board ZUS.

According to a pessimistic scenario, FUS will need 83 billion zloty support annually from the state budget.

According to ZUS forecast for 2008-2012 announced three years ago, the budget was to subsidize FUS with 184 billion zlotys at the most within five years.

The gap was caused by growing unemployment rate, the reduction of disability contribution and pension privileges enjoyed by large professional groups.
