World Bank Raises Poland's GDP Growth Forecast to 2.5-3 pct
Poland's economy is expected to grow by 2.5-3% in 2010, according to a revised forecast by the World Bank relayed to reporters by senior economist Kaspar Richter.
"In 2010 a growth in 2.5-3% range is within reach," Richter said. "We are raising our forecast because we think the Q4 growth rate will be maintained in 2010 and that there will be a revival in the EU, with GDP growth at 1%."
"Risks for these forecasts are balanced," he said.
Poland's economy in Q4 2009 expanded by 3.1%.
Earlier the World Bank expected Poland to record 2.2% GDP growth.
