Gov’t Names Site for First Nuclear Power Plant
The government has selected the northern town of Żarnowiec as its preferred location for Poland’s first nuclear power plant, and wants it to be producing electricity in ten years.
“Żarnowiec heads a list 28 towns considered to be the best locations for a nuclear plant, followed by Warta-Klempicz and Kopan, which still have a chance to host a second nuclear power station in Poland,” deputy Economy Minister and the government’s advisor on atomicenergy Hanna Trojanowska told a press conference Tuesday.
