Run Warsaw, Run!
Everybody is invited to take part in a five-kilometer run through Warsaw's streets Oct 1. Both fans of jogging and those whose only running activity is chasing public transport can put their legs to the test during Run Warsaw 2006. Last year, 10,000 people took part in the Run Warsaw event. This year, twice as many are expected.
The run will begin on the Wisłostrada expressway and end near the Torwar sports center. Acting Warsaw Mayor Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz will run wearing the number 1 on his jersey. Those eager to take part must register at a registration point and buy a special participant's set, which includes a Nike shirt, a number and a special time-measuring chip.
Registration ends Sept. 29. Oct. 1, Torwar sports center, Łazienkowska Street; the event begins at 8 a.m. and the run starts at noon.
