The Boathouse restaurant has launched an exclusive series of monthly meetings with the motto "Fine Wine. Fine Food. Fine Company."

"The Club 22 series is designed to attract those who enjoy exquisite food and the best wines to dinners combined with wine tastings," said manager Agnieszka Łyszkowska.

The meetings will be held once a month, on a Friday evening. The first one will take place Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m.-this time on a Thursday. Guests will taste Glen Carlou wines from South Africa. Arco Laarman, a producer from Glen Carlou, will come to Poland specially for the occasion. The Boathouse chef, Virgine Germain, will prepare a menu to complement the wines. The dishes served will include chicken breast salad, scallops, leg of lamb with white bean purée and a gorgonzola and pear soufflé. The price of the first dinner is zl.295.

The name of the club is not accidental. "There are only 22 seats at the table," said Łyszkowska. "We want to maintain the exclusive and private character of this event."

John Borell, a wine taster and the owner of Wine Express, will be the host at each dinner at Club 22. In the future, club members will meet with wine connoisseurs and owners of vineyards from across the world. They will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with products of vineyards such as Cysters del Siurana in Catalonia, the excellent Colonial Esteta in Australia, the small vineyard of Ruca Malen in Argentina and the legendary Carpineto in Tuscany.

The Boathouse has a unique nautical atmosphere. A pre-World War II boat that was found in the attic when the restaurant was renovated has been incorporated into the building's interior design. The sense of space is enhanced by a glass wall offering a beautiful view of the Vistula River. The interior design is simple but well thought-out with a sense of coziness, created through the sophisticated details, a considerable amount of wood and vivid colors. The restaurant has four rooms, each with its own distinct character. There is a bar downstairs and three rooms upstairs: the fireplace room (for small receptions), the claret-colored VIP room and a room with a terrace and a view of the Vistula. The menu is composed of Mediterranean dishes including pasta, salads, a selection of cheeses, summer barbecues and desserts. There is also a full selection of alcoholic beverages.
