Its name speaks for itself. Opened in October, Top Floor is the highest located club in Warsaw, on the 19th floor of a skyscraper not far from the Vistula. Three of the club's walls have huge windows. The view at night, over an illuminated Warsaw, is especially impressive. "It is a club at weekends, and during the week we are open to the business community," says Grzegorz, the club manager. That means that conferences, lectures, business meetings, training courses and screenings can all be organized here. The Top Floor team provides its guests with a comprehensive range of services, including catering.

Club events, which, for the time being, are only organized on Fridays and Saturdays, only admit guests over 25, which is rare among Warsaw clubs. Top Floor's interiors are minimalistic, with fashionable grays and spots of color-no excessive decoration. "We paid a lot of attention to soundproofing, so that the club does not disturb residents," says the manager. "The dance floor is loud, but just a few meters away guests can talk in peace at the bar. Our bartenders can hear what you say to them." The place does not aspire to be a restaurant, so it only has a drinks menu, which features a wide range of cocktails. Guests are provided with English-speaking, classy service.

Top Floor's strategy for now is to be selective and stay low-profile with no signboards or publicity. People hear about it by word of mouth. Future plans include a series of themed events. New Year's Eve also promises to be interesting. Guests will be right in the middle of a firework show that will be spread right across the city.

Top Floor, 8 Smolna St., 19th floor. Open Fri.-Sat. from 10 p.m. Admission is free (door selection).
