Pędzący Królik (The Running Rabbit) is a small magical restaurant located close to the Wielki Theater and inspired by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, the favorite book of owner Ewa Bałuk-Zaborowska.

Although designed according to a fairy-tale theme with the use of mirrors and shades of pink, white and black, the interior is elegant with attention to detail. The place is cheerful with chairs upholstered in pink velvet and fabric covered in white and black comic-book illustrations. In the evening, the bar is lit up by changing colors. A large picture of a rabbit decorates one of the main walls. A painting depicting Alice can be found in a smaller room behind a curtain where receptions and private events are often organized.

Pędzący Królik was opened in May last year. "Initially, everyone thought it was a place for children," says manager Małgorzata Koss-Zielińska. "Despite our interior decoration, the restaurant is intended for adults, although children are of course welcome. We do not organize parties for children though. It was our guests who forced us to turn from a cafe into a restaurant. We gradually introduced breakfasts, dishes and alcoholic beverages." The restaurant serves European cuisine and a winter menu has recently been made available. Many of the dishes' names are inspired by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. There is for instance the Queen's Breakfast composed of cottage cheese with herbs, tomato, cucumber, a soft-boiled egg, butter, honey and a bread basket. The hors d'oeuvres include buckwheat pancakes served with salmon, pancakes with spinach, and eggplant with mozzarella roasted with tomatoes. There are also salads with salmon, trout and chicken as well as spinach, salmon and classical pasta. The Four o'Clock in the Morning onion soup and mushroom soup with noodles are probably the best soups served here.

Duck a l'orange, schnitzel and steam-cooked sole with salmon are recommended as a main course. "We prepare desserts according to home recipes, without any preservatives," adds Koss-Zielińska. The Pędzący Królik layer cake with mascarpone, chocolate and nuts is a popular dessert. A novelty at the restaurant is a halva cake with whipped cream and layers of chocolate sponge cake and halva. Pędzący Królik is the only restaurant in Warsaw where you can drink Circi coffee imported from Italy. It is served as classical coffee, espresso, and with spirits, amaretto, kahlua, and with mead.

Throughout December, the restaurant is organizing Christmas dinners with a special menu.
