Some 1,000 Solidarity unionists from all over Poland staged a rally in front of the Szczecin Shipyard main gate in defense of work places and against the decreasing importance of Zachodnie Pomorze (Western Pomeranian province) on the Polish Baltic coast.

The protesters demanded a dialog with the Polish government about rescuing of the Szczecin and Gdynia Shipyards. The protest was attended by former shipyarders and trade unionists from all over Poland.
