Inflation May Rise to Over 2.5% by End of Year: Official
Headline annual inflation will likely rise beginning from the September reading and end the year just above the central bank's 2.5% target, a finance ministry official told the PAP news agency Wednesday.
"For September we expect inflation will slightly increase year on year,"
Slawomir Dudek, deputy head of the finance ministry's statistics and analysis department, told PAP.
"The coming months will bring a continued gradual increase in annual inflation and at the end of the year it will insignificantly exceed the target of 2.5%," he said.
Earlier Wednesday, the finance ministry estimated that August inflation hit 2.1%, up fractionally from 2.0% in July.
