As part of the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Grand Duchy of Warsaw, the City of Warsaw is organizing numerous events Saturday, July 7, to mark this historic event. Warsaw Mayor Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz said, "The Grand Duchy of Warsaw caused the partial reappearance of our country on the map of Europe, and for Warsaw it meant regaining the status of capital of Poland."

All the celebrations on July 7 prepared by the City of Warsaw will refer to the anniversary. There will be marches by the army and displays by the cavalry in historical costumes, a parade drill by lancer regiments, historical dance performances, a patriotic song karaoke and a grand musical show in the Agrykola park. The director of the Saturday program of events is the well-known and talented artist Janusz Józefowicz, creator of musicals, such as Metro, Romeo and Juliet and Ca Ira. Janusz Stokłosa, the well-known music composer for theater, film and musicals, is responsible for musical arrangement.

Events will start on Piłsudskiego Square at 5 p.m., and will be followed by a march along the Royal Way to Łazienki Park. The Agrykola show will start at 10 p.m. and will close with a fireworks display.
