Every summer, the streets of Warsaw turn into venues for artistic events. The city is then full of music, dance and theater. There are also open-air film screenings and performance art projects.

These days, summer in the city no longer conjures up the image of cultural doldrums, closed theaters and general boredom. Many Polish cities, including Warsaw, have demonstrated that the summer months can be a good time for artistic activities open to the general public and held in venues such as parks and streets. Events such as the Crossroads of Cultures Festival, Warsaw Musical Gardens, Jazz in the Old Town International Open-Air Festival, the Art of the Street and the Festival of Jewish Culture are only some of the attractions planned in the capital this summer.
