An audience of around 1,000 celebrated the end of Carnival with a concert by Canadian singer Garou. The 90-minute concert at Torwar arena March 4 was preceded by young Polish vocalist Georgina.

A day before, Garou took part in the gala Wiktor statuette ceremony, during which he was presented with an honorary award. On the day of the concert at Torwar, during a press conference at Radisson hotel, Garou, whose last album went platinum, also received an award from Sony Music Polska. The final concert by Garou, and the whole tour of Poland, featured musicians who normally perform with Celine Dion-three guitarists, a drummer, keyboard player and saxophonist. The audience's reaction to every song, given new interpretations by Garou, was very enthusiastic. The concert consisted of hits from Garou's debut album Seul, including "Gitan" and "Je N'attendait Que Vous" as well as cover versions which Polish audiences first heard at the Forest Opera in Sopot last year. The guitar sounds of the live performance gave the songs a rockier edge. Garou was in excellent vocal shape and sang lively renditions of Joe Cocker's "You Can Leave Your Hat On," Charles Aznavour's "La Boheme" and James Brown's "Get Up (I'm a Sex Machine)." Other covers included "Everybody Needs Somebody To Love," "Brown Eyed Girl" and "You Really Got Me." Garou also played guitar several times, asked members of the audience to join him on stage and even went offstage to greet the crowd. Between the songs the artist chatted to the audience in Polish. He also performed a duo with Celine Dion-a video clip of "Soul Le Vent" appeared on a large screen, lending the effect of a live performance. Garou presented two songs from his new, unfinished album, which were also accompanied by video clips.

He remembered about the birthday of one of the dancers and asked the audience to sing "Happy Birthday" to her. At the end of the concert Garou announced that the reason he would come to Poland again was the great audience. His good-bye song was "Feel So Good," chosen as if to stress how good he feels in Warsaw. The concert finished with two encores from the Seul album. Garou once more proved that he can electrify an audience with his spontaneity and vigor, features which concerts of other world-famous stars in Poland frequently lack.
