Selling Vodka to Poland: Finlandia Dares
Russians, Poles and Scandinavians are the world's biggest vodka consumers and experts. Some manufacturers are now elevating this beverage to luxury status. Poles' expenditure on alcohol has shot up almost 25 percent over the last couple of years, according to market researchers AC Nielsen.
Poland is Finlandia Vodka's largest market, contributing to almost 30 percent of the global volume, which has reached over 2.6 million 9-liter cases annually. Last year's 30-plus-percent sales increase of Finlandia Vodka in Poland translated into 630,000 9-liter cases.
The Brown-Forman Corporation, which owns the company, is stepping up the pace in Poland. Consumers have more flavors and new ways of enjoying vodka in store for them. Flavored vodkas are a surefire hit as they offer new taste sensations without straying too far away from familiar territory.
Finlandia gauges Polish preferences carefully before introducing new vodka varieties such as its Grapefruit Fusion, which was created based on market research on the preferences of Polish consumers. And it seems that Poles have very good taste: Finlandia Grapefruit Fusion has made it big in Poland and has been launched successfully on other markets as well-plus it has been awarded a Double Gold Medal for the top flavored vodka in the San Francisco World Spirit Competition.
Finlandia in Poland offers five flavor variants: Finlandia Lime Fusion, Finlandia Grapefruit Fusion, Finlandia Mango Fusion, Finlandia Cranberry Fusion, and Redberry Fusion-a wide and strong range of original and natural flavors, and a nice set of options to chose from.
