Krzysztof Janiak, a priest and manager of the Dom Jana Pawła II hotel in Wrocław, talks to Barbara Deręgowska.

You have been the manager of Dom Jana Pawła II for five years. What distinguishes it from other hotels?
It is the place and people that have determined the distinctive character of the hotel. Located in Ostrów Tumski near the botanical garden and a 1,000-year-old cathedral, it is an ideal haven for all those wishing to live in a quiet and peaceful place, among beautiful surroundings of historical churches and buildings.

Another asset of the hotel is its proximity to the market square and the busy center of Wrocław: you will get there in a 10-minute leisurely walk.

In terms of people, I mean both the staff, who ensure the high standards of the services we provide, and the guests.

Do your guests come back? Do you have regular patrons?
Our regular guests and their satisfaction with our services are the best advertisement. We are open to everybody wishing to stay here. We are especially happy about close contacts with Wrocław's colleges and many institutions operating in the city.

We also have regular guests from various corners of the globe. They are attracted not only by the standards, as there are many hotels superior in this respect, but mainly the location of the facility and the atmosphere here.

We also organize events and parties, from wedding parties to family reunions and meetings on various important occasions.

To conclude, let me take this opportunity to offer my best wishes for a Merry Christmas to all the readers of The Warsaw Voice weekly and their families.

"Wrocław is a city located at the meeting point of three countries that history has closely connected with each another. It is a city that is a meeting point, a city that unites. In a way the spiritual tradition of the East meets that of the West here." Pope John Paul II, speaking in June 1997

The Dom Jana Pawła II hotel was founded as token of gratitude to commemorate Pope John Paul II's two visits to Wrocław.

The facility is located in the oldest part of the city, Ostrów Tumski. The neighborhood has witnessed Wrocław's history stretching back more than a millennium.

The facility has 80 single and double rooms and five suites. Additional assets include spacious conference rooms, a sauna, a hair styling and beauty salon and a post office. Guests also have at their disposal an underground garage and a parking lot around the hotel for about 50 cars. The spacious and well furnished interiors of the hotel, restaurant and cafe create a cozy atmosphere.
