In November, the Warsaw Destination Alliance (WDA) participated in three international trade fairs: the BTC exhibition in Rome, the World Travel Market in London, and the EIBTM in Barcelona. The WDA talked to potential clients interested in organizing conferences in Warsaw.

The EIBTM was the most successful trade fair for the WDA, where the foundation had its own stand within the Polish display. The WDA noted great interest in Warsaw combined with Cracow as a destination for medium conferences and incentives, mainly among clients from Germany and Britain.

The WDA Dec. 6 hosted Henrik von Arnold, former director of the Göteborg Convention Bureau, who gave a presentation on private and public cooperation in the promotion of destinations and the creation of marketing strategies. The case of Göteborg, a city in Sweden, is especially spectacular. Tourist turnover in the city doubled between 1991 and 2006. Göteborg became the second most popular city in Sweden with tourists, after Stockholm. The success of the city is based on close cooperation between the local government and private companies from various industries that support promotional activities and improve their businesses.
