Art in the City

The Walking Art Tour project, organized for the fourth time by the Warsaw Destination Alliance (WDA) foundation, runs until Jan. 24. A series of exhibitions that are part of the project opened Nov. 23 not only in WDA member hotels, but also in venues including galleries, restaurants and shopping centers, and even in metro stations.

This year, the project's highlight was a series of light displays on buildings in Warsaw, organized by the WDA and Warsaw authorities. The projections included two exhibitions referring to the history of Poland screened on the Palace of Culture and Science and on Hotel Novotel Warszawa Centrum, starting 4 p.m. every day until Dec. 6, entitled Skarby wieków ¶rednich (Treasures of the Middle Ages) and Polaków dzieje malowane (History of Poles in Paint).

The project organizers are hoping that the November/December presentations of the Walking Art Tour will become a must-see sight, attracting many tourists to Warsaw in future years.

Until the end of December you have an opportunity to see an exhibition of sculptures by Joanna R±czka-Ziemiec in the Rialto Hotel. In January, there will be two exhibitions of painting: by Agnieszka Szyfter in the Sheraton Hotel and Joanna Stańko at the Holiday Inn. The Polonia Palace Hotel will host an exhibition of Weronika Sadlik's photography.
