The Academy of Mr. Kleks is returning to Warsaw's Roma Music Theater. The musical, which had its premiere this spring, has proved a breakthrough for the theater and one of its biggest successes.

The tale of Mr. Kleks was written by Polish writer Jan Brzechwa in 1946. It's a story about a naughty 12-year-old redhead called Adaś Niezgódka. He joins the titular academy along with 23 other boys, all of whose names start with an A.

The adventures of Mr. Kleks continue in the books The Travels of Mr. Kleks and The Triumph of Mr. Kleks. The musical, directed by Wojciech Kępczyński, is based mainly on the three novels.

Each scene of the Academy of Mr. Kleks has something magical to it that stirs the imagination. It is a fantasy story comparable to the adventures of Harry Potter, or the Chronicles of Narnia.

The group scenes, the dance and songs, and the original stage design make for a dazzling show. There are also impressive special effects, including a four-meter-high airship and animation displayed on several shifting screens.
