High Note on New Year's Eve

Singers Grażyna Brodzińska, Jacek Wójcicki and Zbigniew Macias are promising a bubbly evening of entertainment at the Szampański Sylwester New Year's Eve performance. They will perform operetta hits, solos and duets, both Polish and foreign. Popular MC Wojciech Wiliński will ensure plenty of dancing, anecdotes and good humor. The event will take place in the Palace of Culture and Science's elegant Warszawska Hall and the circular lounge. Popular musician Adam Manijak and band will provide the musical setting with new arrangements.

Night of Musicals

The Bajka Theater has lined up a night of musicals on New Year's Eve including Grease, Cabaret, Les Miserables, Cats, Evita, Metro, Miss Saigon, Chicago, West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof and Hello Dolly. You will also hear great hits by Celine Dion, Michael Jackson, Barbara Streisand, Liza Minnelli and Bonnie Tyler.

The night's performers will be the stars of the Roma, Komedia and Buffo theaters. Popular actor Olaf Lubaszenko will be MC.

Classical Evening

For lovers of Polish culture and Polish classics by composers like Chopin and Moniuszko, the National Opera is organizing an evening of Polish music, songs and dances. The night will be full of humor as well as more serious reflections on beautiful traditions and culture. Performers will be leading soloists and the orchestra, chorus and ballet of the National Opera.

Symphony Sounds

The National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Antoni Wit will perform a New Year's Eve Concert featuring the overture to Gioacchino Rossini's La gazza ladra, Musetta's waltz from Giacomo Puccini's La Boheme and Lauretta's aria from his Gianni Schicchi, fragments of Pyotr Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, and more pieces for orchestra, opera and operetta, arias and duets.

La Vita e Bella at National Theater

New Year's Eve at the National Theater will be filled with classical, popular and film music hits. The concert will feature stars of music stages in Milan and Warsaw including Iwona Tober, Anna Cymerman, Tadeusz Szlenkier, Leszek Świdziński, and Italian singers Valentina Pannino and Marco Voleri. A 50-member symphony orchestra under Sławomir Chrzanowski will accompany the soloists.

The program includes hits once sung by Jan Kiepura, Luciano Pavarotti, Elvis Presley and Abba.
