Poetry of Punk

Article's tools:

Polish rock band Armia (The Army) is gearing up to perform at Warsaw's Stodoła Club Jan. 24.

The band combines punk rock with poetry and a regular guitar sound. It was founded back in the 1980s by guitarist Robert Brylewski, vocalist Tomasz Budzyński, and saxophonist Sławomir Gołaszewski. The group is still popular thanks to its uncompromising lyrics dealing with ideas such as virtue, honor and truth, as well as its use of instruments such as the French horn and flute, a rarity in rock music.
