The British Polish Chamber of Commerce (BPCC) was named Institution of the Year Jan. 20 for its outstanding achievements in promoting bilateral relations between the two countries. The award was conferred by the Dziennik Polski daily and the Polish Cultural Foundation in London.

Anna McKeever and Mira Faber received the award on behalf of the BPCC. The two women are best known for having developed a series of events aimed at British and Polish business communities in Britain. The BPCC has played a leading role in supporting the estimated 50,000 Polish businesses operating in Britain since Poland joined the EU in 2004.

"This is fantastic news for the BPCC and its members," said Martin Oxley, the BPCC's chief executive officer. "We have significantly expanded our activity in Britain over the past few years by regularly promoting business opportunities in Poland and providing ongoing support for Polish businesses in Britain. This award is a great honor for us and I am very proud of our team in Britain. They have worked hard to develop programs, seminars and services supporting the Polish community. Our export, employment and HR conferences are landmark events."
