Horse Riding in Warsaw
March 5, 2008
Article's tools:

You might think it is impossible to ride a horse in Warsaw, but nothing could be further from the truth, as the hectic city has plenty of places where you can ride at a gallop forgetting all about the hustle and bustle of civilization.

The Wilanów Stable Horse Riding Club is one such place, perfect for both seasoned riders and beginners. Lessons are conducted by qualified English-speaking instructors. There are about 20 horses to choose from and they are very friendly and calm, suitable for adults and children alike. There is also an indoor arena of around 2,000 sq m available in case of inclement weather. Every couple of months a horse riding and showjumping tournament takes place, which all those attending the courses are free to enter. There is also a stable café and a children's park.

The Korona Stable, also in the Wilanów district, is conveniently situated close to the Vistula river, the Marysin park and the Wilanów Palace. The instructors can speak both English and German, and the instruction programs are customized to fit the riders' individual skills and abilities. There is a wide selection of arenas for leisure horse riding available and a large racetrack for professionals.

The Wolica Stable offers an interesting alternative, run by the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. Apart from instruction and leisure horse riding, a veterinary clinic is soon to be opened and a horse hospital is to be moved there from the Grochów district. Riders can choose from a dozen horses, including one pony. The groups are rather small, which helps maintain a high standard. The Wolica Stable also provides hippotherapy, which has parents and children flocking from across the city to take part in special treatment sessions.
