A series of horse-riding competitions known as the 5th Toyota Sygnity World Cup will be held in Warsaw March 14-16. Over the weekend riders from all over the world will compete for a place in the event's finals to be held in Sweden's Gothenburg and s-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands.

This year's Toyota Sygnity World Cup will take on a new formula in that all competitors will start on an equal footing. Points gained in previous competitions will not be taken into account.

So far competitors from Russia, Hungary, Belarus, Ukraine, Italy, the United States, Germany, Estonia, Belgium and South Africa have registered to take part in the event. Prizes are worth a total zl.327,000.

This year's events include nine jumping competitions, two in dressage, a race for single-horse carriages, and a pony show. As in years past, many figures from the world of show business and sport will join in the festivities.

Each of the three days of the Toyota Sygnity World Cup will be divided into morning and afternoon sessions. Morning entry on the first day of the competition, or Friday, will be free. Tickets for Friday afternoon and all other sessions cost zl.30-50 and zl.20-35 for concessions.

March 14-16, Torwar Arena, 6a Łazienkowska St., Warsaw, www.tswc.pl
