Helical Poland Sp. z o.o., a developer specializing in the construction of shopping centers, has received a permit for the construction of a shopping center near Opole. Work will start this summer and the facility is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2009. A Carrefour hypermarket will occupy 10,300 sq m in the center, and Praktiker is close to completing negotiations on the lease of 9,600 sq m.

The complex will be built on a 15-hectare plot in Turawa commune, on the southeastern outskirts of Opole, near the intersection of the city beltway with Witosa Street. Helical Poland will finance the expansion of the street and the construction of a new intersection.

The center will include more than 70 stores. There will be three sectors-restaurants and bars, interior decoration and furniture, and fashion. There will be a retail park (9,000 sq m) and a shopping mall (8,500 sq m).

Established in 2005, Helical Poland is a subsidiary of Helical Bar plc, a British investment and development company listed on the London stock exchange.
