April 2, 2008
Article's tools:

The Polish-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce opened in March to facilitate business between the two countries.

The number of firms operating in Poland with Portuguese capital has tripled since the country joined the European Union in 2004. Poland is now Portugal's fourth largest foreign investment market. With 400 million euros invested here, Portugal is Poland's 20th largest foreign investor.

The chamber was set up by 22 companies. More Polish and Portuguese firms are expected to join in the near future, as are several international firms based in either or both countries.

The chairman is Pedro Pereira da Silva, general manager of Jeronimo Martins Dystrybucja, which owns the Biedronka retail chain.
