Balancing Between Sense and Absurdity
April 2, 2008
Article's tools:

Warsaw's Luksfera gallery is hosting an exhibition by acclaimed photographer Paweł Żak entitled Słodki poniedziałek i inne martwe natury (Sweet Monday and Other Still Life).

Żak, 43, is a photographer with his own distinctive style. His world of photography is more a creation than a mere imitation of reality. The new exhibition is distinct from previous ones in that it features color photography. The collection balances between sense and absurdity in human existence, and is informed with subtlety and Żak's personal aesthetic. The seemingly toned down, contemplative photos are rife with diverse meanings and references to modern times.
