Bytom Goes to the Olympics
April 2, 2008
Article's tools:

Polish menswear brand Bytom showed off its summer collection in Warsaw March 13. Guests who gathered at the auditorium of the Warsaw University of Technology saw classic and reticently elegant suits made of top quality wool. The dominant colors on the catwalk were beige and steely shades of gray. A range of checked patterns added diversity to the collection.

The climax of the event was the unveiling of special parade outfits that Bytom designed and made for Polish athletes taking part in the summer Olympics in Beijing this year. Bytom is providing clothes for Polish Olympic athletes for the second time. It did the same during the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004.

"The current collection is inspired by the look of prewar Olympic athletes," said Tomek Ossoliński, the designer of the Olympic collection. "Hence the classic references, such as single-breasted jackets with white buttons and milk-white, hemmed pants. The light wool guarantees comfort."

Bytom stores will be selling a limited edition of suits with the Polish Olympic Committee logo. The suits will be identical to those worn by Polish athletes in Beijing.
