Violin Master Vladimir in Warsaw

As part of its master recital series, the National Philharmonic will April 8 host violinist Vladimir Spivakov, accompanied by Alexander Ghindin on piano. They will perform pieces by Bela Bartok, Igor Stravinsky and Ludwig van Beethoven.

Spivakov is know as founder, conductor and violin soloist of the Moscow Virtuosi chamber orchestra. In 1991, he was hailed the greatest artist of the former Soviet Union. He is artistic director and principal conductor of the National Philharmonic of Russia. He has received many awards at festivals in Moscow, Paris, Genoa and Montreal.
