Chopin at Teresin

The Mazovian Meetings with Chopin's Music will begin April 12 at the Palace of the Drucki-Lubecki Dukes in Teresin not far from Warsaw.

The project, prepared in association with the Mazovia province government, will be held regularly until the 200th anniversary of Frederic Chopin's birth in 2010. The organizers are the Agartis Foundation of Culture and Education and the Jesteśmy Razem (Together We Stand) Foundation.

The opening concert features performers including Szczepan Kończal, a semifinalist of the 2005 Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw. The event will be accompanied by an exhibition entitled Chopin Competition Through a Lens with photos by Dominik Skurzak. Coffee-table books with photos of 2005 Chopin Competition participants will be on sale during the day.

April 12, 4 p.m., Palace of the Drucki-Lubecki Dukes in Teresin (KRUS Center). The village of Teresin is located 45 kilometers west of Warsaw on the road to Poznań.
