Thai Expo in Warsaw
April 16, 2008
Article's tools:

An exhibition dedicated to Thailand will take place at Warsaw's Palace of Science and Culture May 7-10. The event, called Thai Expo 2008, will promote Thai products, food, culture and tourism.

The four-day exhibition will be divided into trade days and events for the general public. Thai companies will exhibit export products and showcase the latest investment opportunities offered by leading Thai manufacturers and exporters, together with new tourist packages available through travel agencies in Poland. Additional attractions will include culinary displays and food tastings, along with demonstrations of traditional Thai massage, traditional dancing performances, and Muay-Thai boxing. Trade between Poland and Thailand increased from $300 million in 2006 to $500 million in 2007, and is bound to increase further in the future, according to Thai ambassador to Poland Thakur Phanit. Thai companies have already invested in Poland, building food processing factories near the southern city of Katowice and the city of Szczecin in the northwest. At a press conference at the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency in early April, Phanit said that Thailand "has the resources to help build roads in Poland."
