Multi-level marketing firm Amway achieved sales of zl.132 million in Poland in 2007. This was an increase of 25 percent over the previous year. Net profit was up 48 percent to zl.6.4 million. "We're expecting a hefty profit this year as well," says Marek Sodolski, general manager of Amway Polska.

Dietary supplements account for 35 percent of Amway Polska's sales, personal hygiene products 22 percent and household items 12 percent. Multi-level marketing is a form of selling goods directly to the consumer. Products are marketed to customers at home or at work by way of demonstrations, presentations or explanations. But online selling is becoming increasingly popular.

Direct selling turnover in Poland was zl.2 billion in 2007 compared with zl.1.9 billion in 2006, according to the Direct Selling Association of Poland.
