Between Reality and Transcendence
April 23, 2008
Article's tools:

Warsaw's Ateneum M³odych gallery will be hosting an exhibition of paintings, videos and installations by Bartek Jarmoliński entitled Relacje 2 (Relations 2), starting May 9.

The title refers to the relations between the artist and the image he creates of himself. Jarmoliński attempts to find a place for himself in the surrounding space. He eliminates insignificant elements from his paintings so that viewers focus their attention on the artist. Jarmoliński places the central composition against a white backdrop, making his works seem suspended between reality and transcendence.

Jarmoliński, born in 1975, graduated from the Fine Arts Academy in £ód¼. He paints, draws and creates installations. He has already had 12 individual exhibitions.

Until June 3, Ateneum M³odych gallery, 51/53 Piwna St
