"My ultimate goal is to grow the country's economy and make people from all walks of life happy," says Mingkwan Sangsuwan, Thailand's deputy prime minister in charge of economic policy and commerce minister.

Mingkwan has pledged to not only raise the incomes of Thailand's farmers but also increase the revenue of the country through the promotion of both strong existing industries and new ones with development potential.

The deputy prime minister has also promised to maximize the country's revenue, mainly through the promotion of foreign investment in the real estate sector, increased tourism, and the growth of exports.

Mingkwan worked in the private sector from age 21 to 49, starting as a salesman with Toyota Motor Thailand and eventually becoming vice-president of its public affairs department. Since 2002 he has held positions in state-run organizations and in the government.
