Real Estate Pros Party: Before CEPIF
May 28, 2008 By Agnieszka Domańska

International real estate market players celebrated the start of the fifth CEPIF, Central and Eastern Europe's leading real estate fair, with a business mixer in Warsaw's Blue Cactus and Iguana Lounge restaurant May 6.

Organized by The Warsaw Voice and property firm redNet, the party was one of the capital's most important business events, bringing together some 300 real estate market professionals, both Polish and foreign. Those in attendance included developers, construction company executives, real estate managers, mortgage lenders, investment specialists, consultants, advisers, analysts and market experts.

In just five years this has become one of the sector's most important events in Europe after Munich's Expo Real and MIPIM in Cannes. Last year CEPIF attracted 809 companies from 28 countries.

Several firms sponsored the party and gave away lottery prizes. Techmex contributed satellite photographs of Warsaw to the lottery; GrandCru supplied the evening's wine and wine coupons; vodka maker Wyborowa contributed vodka, and the food was up to Blue Cactus' normal high standards. The restaurant also contributed a catering voucher to the lottery. Car-rental firm Sixt (automotive partner in The Voice Club) sponsored a weekend rental of an Opel Astra Cabrio. Other party sponsors included Cigno Consulting and Domoteka Wyposażenie Wnętrz.

No such evening is complete without music and DJ Adee and Krupiszon-sax entertained the guests. The party organizers also exhibited the work of contemporary artist Agnieszka Szyfter, who has achieved fame both in Poland and abroad. Her paintings were recently shown in a New York gallery beside those of Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Joan Miro, Henri Matisse and Marc Chagall. Szyfter's work is distinctive in its use of color, its style and its subject matter-contemporary womanhood, emotions and everyday situations. Szyfter has held sole exhibitions of her work in Europe and the United States, in venues such as the William Bennett Gallery in New York, and during an international art exhibition in Beijing, China.
