After the long, frosty and dark winter in the north of Finland, there is a time of constant light. For several weeks, from mid-spring to mid-summer, the midnight sun dances above the horizon without setting. For the Finns, this is a time of fun, relaxation and a splendid occasion to get back to nature.

The ancestors of the present Lapps lit fires, listened to shamans' predictions, feasted and enjoyed the summer during this time of year. The modern Finns enjoy Midnight Sun celebrations together with the Day of the National Flag. They organize picnics, festivals and fiestas, meet friends, sing and have fun.

The tradition of celebrating during the summer solstice has fans all over the world. Poles are no exception. This year, the Warsaw version of Finlandia Midnight Sun party will be organized for the fifth time.

During such get-togethers in both Lapland and Poland, Finlandia Midnight Sun participants will have the opportunity to taste traditional Finnish dishes prepared according to old recipes, take part in games based on traditional Finnish customs, and enjoy live concerts by stars invited to the party every year.

An ancient Finnish proverb says that your dreams will come true if you see the sun, the moon and white reindeer at the same time. You can find two of those elements-white reindeer and the Midnight Sun-on every bottle of Finlandia Vodka.

The time of year when the sun doesn't set for several months is important for both people and nature. It is a time of rebirth and growth. Unique, six-row barley, used in the production of Finlandia Vodka, slowly ripens in the constant sunshine, producing extraordinary harvests. The small quantity of oils in the barley gives Finlandia Vodka its uncommon, pristine taste and vigor. Water, vital to life, is also an important component of Finlandia Vodka. The natural environment of Finland offers the purest ingredients for the production of quality vodka. As a result, Finlandia Vodka represents the purity of nature in Finland. It makes Finlandia Vodka ideal to drink both straight and in cocktails.

If you can't make it to the Finlandia Midnight Sun celebrations, host a Midnight Sun party of your own so you can enjoy the special traditions of the time of solstice with your friends, family and loved ones. And don't forget the Finlandia Vodka-so you can take pleasure in the fruits of the Midnight Sun's labors in every bottle.
