14 Years in Italy and 10 Years in Poland

Article's tools:

The Italian-Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry is an association committed to promoting and expanding business relations between Poland and Italy. Established in 1994 in Italy, since 1998 it has had an office in Warsaw, in addition to other cities. Its legal status and activities are regulated by the so-called Foreign and Italian-Foreign Chambers' Register (clause no. 8) kept in Rome by Unioncamere, an organization that brings together all chambers of commerce operating in Italy. The chamber operates in accordance with Law 580/93 and an accompanying decree, and is supervised by the Italian minister for foreign trade.

The chamber's main purpose is to establish relationships between Italian and Polish firms, mainly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), using a staff of skilled employees in both Milan and Warsaw who are capable of meeting firms' requirements. The greatest advantage of the chamber is that it evaluates partners (scouting), organizes meetings, press conferences and presentations, and conducts product analyses. It provides a wide range of both standard and customized services.

Institutional relationships
Since 1998, the chamber's Warsaw office has represented Fiera Milano (Milan Fair), one of most important exhibition centers in the world (www.fieramilano.it). Moreover, the Italian Agency for Tourism (ENIT) is active at the Warsaw office as Italy is the top foreign destination for Polish visitors traveling for holidays and leisure.

The chamber's other partners include the Modena, Milan and Florence chambers of commerce. The chamber also cooperates with many Italian and Polish trade associations and consortia.

The chamber carries out important projects in association with the Lombardy region and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Trade, in particular projects targeted at small and medium-sized enterprises.

New challenges in Poland
The chamber receives many questions concerning European funds and the Euro 2012 soccer tournament to be held in Poland and Ukraine. The chamber helps Italian firms interested in working in many key sectors by collecting information about opportunities available in those fields and supporting their objectives, either directly or in cooperation with specialized firms.

Over the past 10 years, the Italian-Polish Chamber of Commerce has carried out intensive activities to promote Italian products in Poland and vice versa. This year, as in previous four years, Italian food has been one of the key areas where it has focused its efforts. In cooperation with the Lombardy region, it has established a permanent showroom for Italian products.

The chamber is at the disposal of SMEs for any inquiries related to the knowledge and instruments needed for approaching a specific market. Its motto is "We work by understanding and addressing entrepreneurs' real needs."
