Courtepaille is a French chain of over 200 restaurants. The first opened in France's Burgundy region in 1961. In Poland, the first Courtepaille opened this May in Warsaw's Arkadia shopping center. At this time of the year, it is a perfect destination for aficionados of barbecues. The restaurant can accommodate about 150 guests. It has a large central room with a large table, a main room and a VIP lounge, as well as a terrace, a great asset in the summer.

The menu has a wide range of grilled specialties, including 20 main courses including beef, pork, poultry and lamb, served either in individual portions or for a number of guests together.

You have a choice of 10 starters, including salads, and 15 desserts, all inspired by French cuisine. But at Courtepaille, the French menu has been specially adjusted to cater for Polish tastes, including soups, drinks and children's meals. To complement the menu, the card has 18 French wines.

The dishes are prepared in full view of guests. The prices are moderate: zl.20-40 for a main course. The barbecue is in the center of the restaurant, making for a congenial atmosphere. The decor is reminiscent of French restaurants.

CH Arkadia, 82 Jana Pawła II Ave., level 1, tel. 0 22-356-10-82. Open from 11 a.m.-11 p.m., on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m.-midnight.
