The third Summer Movie Capital (Filmowa Stolica Lata), the largest outdoor film festival in Poland, will be held at parks in Warsaw throughout the summer. The first festival screening will take place June 24 in the Podzamcze area between the Old Town and the Wisłostrada expressway. The opening movie is The Aerial (La Antena) by Esteban Sapir from 2006. This contemporary silent movie will be shown to live music.

Every day of the week during this year's Summer Movie Capital will feature a different movie genre. If you feel like getting a little scared, come to the Saski Garden to see thrillers and horror films on Friday nights. If you like adrenaline, you can watch an action movie in the Skaryszewski Park on Saturday night, while on a Sunday you can relax watching a comedy at Praski Park. If happen to come by the Art Park on Frascati Street on Thursday, you are in for some romantic tear-jerkers. On Wednesday nights, in turn, festival audiences will see hit movies chosen in an online poll by visitors to the festival website.

The event is subsidized by Warsaw City Hall's Culture Office and the Polish Film Institute. For more information go to www.filmowastolica.pl
