Open-Air Theater for Children
June 11, 2008
Article's tools:

The Polonia Theater, managed by famous actress Krystyna Janda, has opened its summer season of open-air performances with Pch³a Szachrajka, a play recounting the adventures of a duplicitous flea. The tale was written by Jan Brzechwa, famous for his classics of children's poetry.

This is the second summer season of open-air performances by the Polonia Theater. They are being held on the spacious sidewalks of Konstytucji Square.

Inspired by performances of theater troupes on the piazzas of small Italian towns, Janda wanted to reach out to people who never usually go to theaters. In 2007 she put on Krzysztof Bizios's play Lament on Konstytucji Square, one of the largest squares in Warsaw. As last year, the open-air performances are free.

Every Saturday and Sunday in June starting at noon.
