Respected professional musicians from New York and London are coming to Poland at the invitation of UBX Records to give an insider's view of their work to talented young performers. The guest artists will conduct music workshops in the Bambini di Praga club and cafe at 26 Jagiellońska St. June 21 at 3 p.m.

The workshops are the idea of well-known violinist, composer and producer Michał Urbaniak. He has played with such jazz legends as Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones and Stephane Grapelly. Urbaniak and his Urbanator band have given many young musicians an opportunity to play with well known artists from America and Britain.

Urbaniak will take part in the workshops along with Troy Miller, a versatile percussion player and composer known for his work with Will Young, Cliff Richard and Amy Winehouse. The other guest musicians will be Otto Williams, a bass guitarist who has played with the likes of Bobby Brown, Chaka Khan and Ray Charles; Femi, a guitarist, producer and composer from Nigeria who has worked with George Benson and The Roots hip-hop band; and Dan Blackman, a pianist, soul singer and composer who has worked with stars including Janet Jackson and Sting.

The workshops will conclude with a concert at Sowińskiego Park June 22 at 6 p.m. All the guest musicians will take part, alongside a number of young musicians selected during the workshops.
