Horses for Courses
The new Horse Riding Route being created in £ód¼ will take tourists from town to town and from one historic site to another.
The route is an idea for a new tourist product in the £ód¼ region-boosting equestrian tourism. £ód¼ province is home to almost 150 equestrian centers where tourists can ride a horse and learn to ride. The centers range from large stud farms to small tourism-oriented farms, all of which will be now linked with a network of tourist paths forming two rings. The inner ring will be 262 kilometers long and pass through 24 equestrian centers located closest to the £ód¼ metropolitan area. The outer ring will be 1,056 km long (only a part of this has been documented so far) and there will also be 130 km of linking trails.
Equestrian tourism is of interest not only to Polish people. Instead of going to exclusive hotels, city dwellers nowadays prefer to stay close to nature. When completed, the project will give tourists an opportunity to undertake a several-day trip with access to horses, equestrian facilities and instructors. In order to make it all happen as soon as possible, the province board is applying for EU funds.
