SGI Baltis Plans New Office Building in Warsaw

The SGI Baltis construction company has bought land for a new office building on a 5,000-square-meter lot on Czerniakowska Street in Warsaw. Construction on the building, designed by the Kazimierski i Ryba architectural studio, will begin in the latter half of this year. The building will neighbor the Comfort Offices building, an earlier project by SGI Baltis. Comfort Offices houses the Ministry of Justice and a district court.

"This is another of our office projects in Warsaw," said Grzegorz Kawecki, vice-president of SGI Baltis. "What makes it different from the previous ones is that we are building it specially for new media companies. The design combines our customers' expectations concerning new technology with proven ideas employed in this kind of buildings." The six-story building will house the head office of the Internet Group SA company. The design enables free arrangement and division of the building's 10,000-sq-m floor space. The building is capable of housing a two-floor television studio that is planned inside. The building will have a garden on the roof. The new building is the fourth project SGI Baltis has set out to carry out in Warsaw over the past year, after the Baltis Office and Comfort Offices buildings and a complex of apartment buildings under construction on Bartycka Street.

Together with Porta Drzwi and Invest Komfort, SGI Baltis forms a holding company called Baltis Investment SA, which has a work force of 2,000. The company's annual sales exceed zl.800 million. Porta Drzwi is the largest Polish producer of doors and door frames, and Invest Komfort is a developer specializing in luxury seaside apartments. Among other projects, Invest Komfort has built a 40-story apartment building in Gdynia that is the tallest structure of its kind in Poland. SGI Baltis specializes in high-standard apartment buildings, such as lofts in ŁódĽ and beach apartments in Międzyzdroje, in addition to office buildings. The company is working on a total of 10 projects in various parts of the country.
