Tuning Up for Chopin Festival
July 9, 2008
Article's tools:

The annual Chopiniana festival focusing on the life and work of the country's most famous composer, Frederic Chopin, is being held in Warsaw until July 31.

The festival includes theatrical performances, ballet, exhibitions and fashion shows. A festival tradition is to hold events in locations linked in various ways with Chopin's life and work, such as the Holy Cross Basilica, where Chopin's heart is buried, and the Belvedere Palace, where the young Chopin played privately for Prince Constantine.

Every year Chopiniana concerts are held in the grounds of the Royal Łazienki Park. The Chopin Memorial in the park is perhaps the best known venue for these concerts.
