The MercedesTrophy 2008 golf tournament for users of Mercedes Benz cars took place on the first weekend of July at the Rosa Private Golf Club, 14 kilometers from Częstochowa in southern Poland. The winner in the main category (net 3/4 HCP) was Aleksander Chaba who scored 46 points.

The MercedesTrophy tournament has been held since 1991 in more than 50 countries on various continents. Poland hosted the event for the fifth time this year. The best golfers selected through national tournaments will get together Sept. 25-30 in Stuttgart, Germany, where they will compete for the MercedesTrophy champion title. Poland will be represented by Chaba and Dariusz Nowosad, who at 39 points came in second in net 3/4 HCP. In third place in the most important MercedesTrophy category was Sebastian Musiolik with 38 points.

The tournament organizers made sure there was also a lot of excitement for less successful contestants, their companions, viewers and reporters. Competitions and attractive prizes awaited winners in other HCP categories as well as the putting, long drive and hole-in-one competitions. The hole-in-one competition was won by Robert Sinior, who sent the ball the closest to the "gold hole" flag. As his prize he got to drive a Mercedes model of his choice for a weekend. The best woman golfer in the net category was Małgorzata Buca-Nowosad.

On the second and final day of MercedesTrophy 2008, Jan Musiolik set the tournament's best gross score of 75 points. Also on the second day, a special V.I.P. team tournament took place. The winners were Urszula Hermanowska with Piotr Puzio.

The MercedesTrophy 2008 tournament aspires to become one of the most important golf events of the year in Poland. This year, it was attended by 120 players. The entrance fees went to the Mam Marzenie (Make a Wish) Foundation, which since 2004 has fulfilled the dreams of children living with life-threatening conditions.
