The Gwardia Stadium in Warsaw, 132 Rac³awicka St., will be the venue for a concert by the British heavy metal legends Iron Maiden Aug. 7.

The band first performed in Warsaw 24 years ago, on Aug. 9, 1984, kicking off their "World Slavery Tour" at the time. That was their first ever visit to a country behind the Iron Curtain.

The musicians are coming to Warsaw on board their own Boeing 757 airplane piloted by vocalist Bruce Dickinson.

The band previously performed in Poland in May 2005 at the ¦l±ski Stadium in the southern city of Chorzów.

During their latest concert tour, "Somewhere Back in Time," Iron Maiden have mainly been playing their 1980s numbers.

The Warsaw concert starts at 8 p.m. Tickets cost zl.130.
