Making Music With the Maestros
August 13, 2008 By M.H.
Article's tools:

The Ensemble International Chamber Arts Festival will be held at the Ksi±¿ Castle, southern Poland, Aug. 13-24. The event will mark the fifth year since the festival was launched.

The formula of the festival is a first in Europe, as apart from running masterclasses, prominent musicians will perform with students of music from across the world attending their courses. This gives young musicians an opportunity to play with established performers, and to jointly compose and interpret musical pieces. This year's lineup of musicians includes Niklas Sivelöv (Sweden) on grand piano, Bart³omiej Nizio³-Stradivari Quartet (Poland, Switzerland) on violin, and Piero Massa (Italy) on viola.

The festival encompasses great works of both early and contemporary music. A concert featuring music by Franz Schubert and Alfred Schnittke will open this year's festival. There will also be plenty of Mozart, Beethoven and Dvorak.

The festival will expand this year to take in theater. Well-known actors attending the event will include Beata Fudalej, Wojciech Malajkat and Zbigniew Zamachowski.
