Old Town Lights Up

The Old Town fortifications, one of Warsaw's most popular tourist attractions, have been lit up by 300 white and yellow lamps, the colors of the flag of Warsaw, since July. The lights are electronically controlled, coming on at dusk and going out at midnight. Additionally, the barbican, the tower that once kept watch over the city gates, and another tower that once served as a keep are alternatively lit up by multicolored beams every 15 seconds.

The idea was originally to highlight the newly renovated fortifications as they snake their way from Zamkowy Square to Brzozowa Street, more than a kilometer away.
