The third Praga Hajdpark (Hyde Park) Theater Review is kicking off in Warsaw's Praga district Aug. 18. This year, the performances are expected to surprise audiences with difficult themes as well as contemporary staging. The review will also feature late-evening exhibitions of photographs and paintings of artists from all over the world. The review encompasses the work of both state and independent theaters, with 12 performances over seven nights.

Project coordinator Marcin Zawada said that this year the event would take up difficult topics aiming to sum up and come to terms with themes including Jews, communism, post-communism, neo-liberalism, revolution and anarchy.
