Poland ready to assist Turkey in rescue operations - PM

Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk has sent condolences to the Turkish PM Recep Tayyip in connection with a tragic earthquake that has hit eastern Van region in Turkey and offered to send fire fighters to assist rescue operations.

A 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck Turkey at 12.41 on Sunday, 17 kilometers north of the eastern city of Van. At least 200 people were killed, hundreds more missing and some 1,000 injured.
